Beaver County Business, Marketing & Information Technology Education Program students earn top honors.

Beaver County BMITE program students recently achieved outstanding success at the Pitch the Plains entrepreneurship competition, a statewide event hosted by Launch Rural Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Pitch the Plains encourages students to develop and present innovative business ideas that address challenges and opportunities in rural Oklahoma. Students submitted their business concepts through a recorded presentation and printed business plan for a chance to advance to the finalist round and compete at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.

The following HPTC students were selected as finalists: Niann Moreno, Scout Rorabough, Yanilett Olguin, Vannia Chavira, Kendall Cline, Kaiden Kibel, Mallory Scott, and Madisun Tedder.

At the annual meeting, these students presented their business plans and delivered professional pitches before a panel of judges.

This year, two students from the High Plains Technology Center – Beaver County campus received top recognition:

• Niann Moreno earned the Top Prize for her pitch, “Green Grub Farms,” which creates a sustainable, nutrition-boosting alternative to traditional cattle feed by integrating black soldier fly larvae (grubs) into livestock feed.

• Madisun Tedder received Second Place for her pitch, “Heartland Health Collective,” a concept focused on making healthcare more accessible to rural Oklahoma.

The BMITE (Business, Marketing & Information Technology Education) program at High Plains Technology Center prepares students for success in business, marketing, and entrepreneurship through hands-on, project-based learning. Under the direction of instructor Kristen Martinez, students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges — gaining valuable experience in branding, communication, leadership, and professional presentation.

The success of these students highlights the continued impact of CareerTech education in rural Oklahoma, where programs like BMITE help students build confidence, develop employable skills, and explore pathways to business ownership and community leadership.
